Synopsis
cast 'consecrate weapon' <weapon>
Description
This spell enables the penitent Paladin to imbue a weapon in his immediate inventory (or wielded) with holy force. The result of this process fortifies the weapon against evil, causing foes of evil alignments to suffer up to 6% additional damage when struck. The Paladin may also gain a bonus to his courage and accuracy while wielding such a consecrated weapon. And, evil projectile magic used against a Paladin wielding a consecrated weapon has a chance to be parried by the Paladin.
The act of consecration has the exceptional power to remove curses, jinxes, and hexes from the weapon, although it may take multiple casts to remove such negative tainting.
The individual performing the consecration must be of positive alignment, in a location free from the tumult of battle and out of the presence of evildoers.
Truly evil weapons, as well as weapons aligned to resist magic, cannot be consecrated through this method.
