Web client patch notes

Patch Notes

v0.25.1

Bug Fixes & Improvements

  • Web Client
    • Fixed lagging that could build up while traveling through the wilds. Most noticeable when following a formation, where the client would fall further behind the game the longer the group kept moving. This was reported in Sigil Underground but could affect fast travel through any wilds region.

v0.25.0

New Features

  • Atlas

    • The Sigil Underground map is now available in the Atlas panel. It starts hidden under a fog of war, which lifts permanently around your character as you explore. Your exploration is shared across all characters on your account and remembered between sessions on your device.
    • Once you've set foot in Sigil Underground, it joins the Maps list in the Atlas settings, so you can browse what you've uncovered from anywhere in the world. Points of interest appear as you discover the terrain around them.
  • Web Client

    • New fullscreen toggle in the game client menu.

Bug Fixes & Improvements

  • Map

    • Map zoom now steps through fixed levels (0.5×, 1×, and 2×), moving one level per scroll.
    • Fixed the map going black (until a page reload) after certain region changes.
  • Atlas

    • Fixed a crash ("Oops! Something went wrong") in the Atlas panel when moving between regions with and without an atlas map — for example, when dying and respawning elsewhere.

v0.24.0

New Features

  • Atlas
    • The Atlas has been rebuilt on a new renderer, on both the in-client panel and the standalone Atlas page, replacing the old image-tile map. Everything you're used to — points of interest, placename labels, the map switcher, coordinates, and the zoom/recenter controls — carries over.
    • Smoother zoom: scrolling now zooms fluidly instead of stepping through fixed zoom levels, and you can zoom in closer than before for a more detailed view.

Bug Fixes & Improvements

  • Atlas

    • Placename labels no longer show a faint offset "ghost" copy at some zoom levels, which affected users on some systems.
    • Clan hall markers now start hidden to reduce clutter — toggle them on from the Atlas settings. (If you'd already set the toggle yourself, your choice is kept.)
  • Web Client

    • On mobile, the screen no longer stays awake after you leave the game client.
    • Reconnecting just as your session was expiring no longer tears the session down.

v0.23.0

New Features

  • Map
    • New mapper roominfo command: run mapper roominfo to see the room you're standing in (its id, name, zone, terrain, flags, and exits) or mapper roominfo <room#> to inspect any other room on the map.

v0.22.1

Bug Fixes & Improvements

  • Atlas

    • Atlas map picker now highlights the currently-selected map.
  • Quests

    • Abandoned quests no longer appear in the quest list.

v0.22.0

New Features

  • Atlas Panel Updates

    • Points of interest: POI markers (including townes, clan halls, castles, inns, and dungeons) now appear on Atlas maps; toggle them from the Atlas settings.
    • Switch between maps: Pick a different regional map directly in the Atlas panel from the gear menu.
  • Game Client Tour

    • A guided 5-step tour highlights the main areas of the client for new players. It starts automatically after your first character login, and you can replay it any time from the game client menu.

Bug Fixes & Improvements

  • Atlas

    • The Village of Lasler now correctly shows as a towne.
    • Added Irda Isle to the Alyria map.
    • The Faerie Plane map is now available to browse, both in the Atlas panel and on the standalone Atlas page.
    • The region formerly shown as "IEN" now displays as Social Wilds.
    • Removed the retired Ruins map.
    • Updates to the Atlas settings menu layout and labels.
  • Map

    • Room search results are now an accessible list of buttons, improving keyboard and screen-reader navigation.
    • Plotted-route highlighting is cleaner: in square-roads view, route markers on street rooms are now squares to match the road styling, and route edges now use the route's own ring color.
    • Room icons now render above the map overlays, and your character is ringed when standing on a room that has an icon, so your position stays easy to spot.
  • Web Client

    • Pressing Enter on an empty prompt now sends a blank line to the game (handy for clearing prompts and paging) instead of being ignored.

v0.21.0

New Features

  • Quest Notifications

    • You now get a toast as your quests advance: when a phase completes, when every phase is done and the quest is ready to turn in at a Questmaster, and when a quest auto-completes.
  • Atlas

    • Continent name labels now appear on the Alyria map, with a "Labels" toggle in the Atlas settings to show or hide them.

Bug Fixes & Improvements

  • Map

    • Map tooltips now sit beside the cursor instead of underneath it, and are click-through while dragging, so they no longer block the room you're pointing at.
  • Web Client

    • Your active panel tab is now remembered, so the tab you're on survives a page reload or reconnect.
    • Fixed a remaining case where a background game command could still leave a stray empty prompt in the terminal output.
    • Terminal help listings are now sorted alphabetically for a predictable order.

v0.20.0

New Features

  • Atlas Coordinates
    • Your character's coordinates and the cursor's coordinates are now shown on the Atlas panel, and the cursor's coordinates are shown on the standalone Atlas page.

Bug Fixes & Improvements

  • Map

    • Zoom-in (+) now sits on top of the zoom controls, matching the usual convention.
    • Map tooltips now follow the cursor and flip near the screen edges so they no longer get clipped; tooltips no longer cover popovers; and hovering over a map popover no longer triggers the room beneath it.
  • Quests Panel

    • Now expands to full height with a single scroll region.
  • Web Client

    • Silent/background game commands no longer leave a stray prompt in the terminal output.
    • Panels which previously had a constrained width now show at full-width.

v0.19.0

New Features

  • Worth Stats

    • New badges next to the vital bars show your gold, quest points (QP), practices, and build points (BP), with tooltips for the full values. Toggle them from Settings or with the client show worth on|off command.
  • Atlas

    • A new Atlas panel shows a zoomable, color-coded map of the game's regions with your current position marked. Toggle the panel from the layout like any other panel. A standalone Atlas page is also available outside the client at /atlas, displaying a curated subset of regions (note that maps for some regions are only discoverable in the Atlas panel by traveling there in-game, so are not available in the standalone Atlas page).
  • Timers

    • A new Timers panel lets you create named timers that run on an interval and either send a command or play a sound when they fire. Toggle the panel from the layout like any other panel.
  • Quests Panel

    • Quests now live in their own dedicated, toggleable panel instead of a tab inside the Character panel.
  • Manage Hotkeys from the Terminal

    • You can now manage your hotkeys without leaving the game terminal. Type client hotkey help for a list of the new commands.

Bug Fixes & Improvements

  • Map

    • A new Show Area Exits toggle in the map settings displays area exits as arrows (off by default).
  • Web Client

    • More Map and Settings options can now be toggled from the terminal: mapper minimap, mapper minimap-wilds-only, mapper trackpad-panning, mapper click-to-travel, mapper save-wilds-rooms, mapper clear-on-click, client settings enable-dialogs, client settings command-history-arrows, client settings scroll-open-split-history, and client settings quest-time.
    • The vital bars now render vertically on narrow panels or touch devices.

v0.18.2

Bug Fixes & Improvements

  • Map
    • Added a "No rooms found" message to the room search and fixed an issue where searches containing special characters were silently failing.

v0.18.1

Bug Fixes & Improvements

  • Web Client
    • Fixed an edge case in MXP negotiation where the version response wasn't sent until the game asked for it, leaving some sessions briefly on the wrong MXP version.
    • The character name now persists in the browser tab title after a page reload while you're still logged in.

v0.18.0

New Features

  • Square Roads on Map

    • New map view mode renders streets, paved/dusty/gravel/mountain roads, city streets, and bridges as squares so road networks stand out at a glance. Toggle between "standard" and "square roads" from the Map settings popover.
  • Ctrl/Cmd-click to fast-travel

    • Hold Ctrl (or Cmd on Mac) and click a room on the map to fast-travel to it. Toggle on/off in Settings → Map → Main map.
  • Manage Custom chat panels from the Terminal

    • You can now manage your custom chat panels without leaving the game terminal. Type client user chat help for a list of the new commands.

Bug Fixes & Improvements

  • Map

    • The Map panel has been rebuilt on a new rendering engine. You may notice some visual refinements; please let us know if anything looks wrong.
  • Web Client

    • Fixed an issue where the "disconnected" toast remained on screen after the connection was restored. It now dismisses automatically on reconnect.
    • Every search input (aliases, hotkeys, triggers, sound triggers, filters, captures, timers, quests, settings, and the in-modal selectors) now has a keyboard-accessible "clear" button that works consistently across browsers.
  • Aliases

    • When an alias template contains any positional marker (%1–%9 or %*), the implicit trailing %* is now suppressed across the entire template, preventing duplicated trailing arguments.
  • Chat Panels

    • Custom chat panel names are now validated: duplicates and built-in panel names are rejected with a clear error when creating or renaming.

v0.17.0

New Features

  • Manage Aliases from the Terminal

    • You can now manage your aliases without leaving the game terminal. Type client alias help for a list of the new commands.
  • More Powerful Aliases

    • Improved typography consistency across multiple sections.

  • Layout Mode Switching and Preview

    • Added a quick toggle in the game client menu to switch between Simple and Mosaic layouts without going into Settings.
    • The layout chooser on the loading screen now opens a larger preview when you click Simple or Mosaic, with Back and Confirm buttons.
    • Clarified in the layout chooser and settings menu that the Simple layout does not include a map.

Bug Fixes & Improvements

  • Web Client
    • Refreshed typography: New 'Mestiza' display font on headings, plus updates and improvements to text and spacing across forms, dialogs, panels, popovers, the map, and sidebar.

v0.15.0

New Features

  • Persistent Minimap State

v0.4.2

Changes to Default Captures

The default capture pattern system has changed. These changes are intended to greatly improve maintainability and allow us to more easily update the system based on your feedback.

Default patterns are no longer copied to a player's custom patterns when they create an account. Instead, new default patterns are provided by the system for both new and existing accounts. Players can still toggle the default patterns on or off but they are otherwise not editable. Players can create a new pattern from a preset as a way of customizing a default pattern.

⚠️ Important Note ⚠️

To avoid duplication with players' existing patterns the new default patterns are initially disabled. We recommend removing any redundant old patterns at this time, but keeping those you may have customized.

We will change the new defaults to initially enabled in an upcoming patch.

If you interact with one of the new default patterns (i.e. toggling it) the system will remember your preference.
