Description
Every character, the weapon they wield, whether they are mounted, and their magic affects contribute to the accuracy of an attack. As expected, a higher accuracy statistic means an improved chance to hit your target. You also will be more effective with your aim at an opponent's body part (see combat aim) as your accuracy increases.
Your current accuracy percentage can be seen when viewing your equipment information and the accuracy of a weapon is included in the display of item stats. The accuracy percentage shown is a result of multiple factors:
Look at your affects. Spells you cast on yourself or those cast against you may alter your accuracy. If you have the 'detect magic' affect, you will be able to see your current accuracy modifier as a result of these affects (for example, being blind will reduce your accuracy, unless you have the 'blind fighting' proficiency).
Look at the identification of certain magical items. They may increase or decrease accuracy. These accuracy modifiers will be shown in your affects list if the item is equipped.
If your character has skill in riding and is mounted, it will improve your accuracy. If you are mounted and you do not have the 'riding' proficiency, this will negatively affect your accuracy.
Accuracy is computed as follows:
from a baseline of 0, +1/3 of the learned skill, up to a maximum of 25, +level/50, +3 acc for learned skill mastery, +3 accuracy for 100% weapon comprehension, +(agility+1) / 2, +every point of strength above 20, +(personality + 5)/10, +((luck+2) / 4) - 2, +1 if riding and possessing the riding skill, +4 if riding and using a lance, or +5 if riding is mastered, +every point of wisdom above 20, +2/3 for every point of +acc granted via equipment or affects, then, if a weapon is wielded: +the wielded weapon's accuracy, -15 acc for every formation member standing in front of a long range weapon wielder, +5 for shooting enchanted arrows, +weapon skill's complexity/30, otherwise: +martial arts'% / 4 -the blindness penalty, -20% if affected by blue cough, then constrained to between 1-98, or 1-90 if gnome.
