Regular Archon Hunters and Archon Hunter Masters are Ithrix bounty hunters who hunt archons. This page covers how they spawn, what they drop, practical tips, and known demon names.
Use in-game help ithrix and help an archon hunter master for live operator text.
Overview
| Regular Archon Hunter | Archon Hunter Master | |
|---|---|---|
| Title | <Name>, the Archon Hunter |
<Name>, the Archon Hunter Master |
| Tier | High-tier archon mob | Category 5 boss (help an archon hunter master) |
| Spawn | Ithrix ATTRACTING gear (amulet, trinket, etc.); CPK may roll Master | Sparkling crystal egg (+ six token types); attracting tick in CPK may also roll Master |
| Main farm value | Hunter tokens, small AP bounty | Sparkling crystal egg, higher AP, boss loot rolls |
How regular hunters appear
Hunters do not passively rift to archon players — you pull them with ithrix ATTRACTING gear (see below) or, for masters, a sparkling crystal egg.
When an attract tick succeeds, typical lines:
An Ithrix attracting amulet glows briefly with a reddish light, then fades back to normal.
A rift appears in time and space, glowing brilliantly!
Grozz, the Archon Hunter steps through the rift, which closes quietly afterwards.
Theratonfar, the Archon Hunter steps through the rift, which closes quietly afterwards.
Auster, the Archon Hunter steps through the rift, which closes quietly afterwards.
Ithrix amulets and trinkets
Several items use the ithrix amuletic power (help amuletic powers):
- ATTRACTING — on tick, causes a hunter (or master) to rift in.
- REPELLING — blocks an attract tick from spawning a hunter.
Only one amulet of a given power type applies; spare copies of the same power do nothing. Most are charge-limited — look shows There are N charges remaining bound within …. A successful attract tick uses one charge and shows a reddish glow (same line on shop amulets, emergency signals, etc.):
An Ithrix attracting amulet glows briefly with a reddish light, then fades back to normal.
Attracting items (farm summons)
| Item | Wear slot | Typical charges | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| an Ithrix attracting amulet | neck | 100 new from shop; any lower count is the same item partially spent | RU from Vanessa Van Pelt, Towne of Rune |
| a trinket traded from the Glyph | neck (level 35 amulet) | ~3 | Boss loot; Archon Hunter Master kill rolls; Glyph invasion trades |
| an Ithrix entrapment amulet | amulet | ~5 | Dingereal the Sage QP shop (560 QP); bind-on-take, 1 per character |
| an ithrix emergency signal | head | ~2 | Boss loot (meteorite beacon — IN CASE OF EMERGENCY, PROMOTE BEACON TO HEADGEAR FOR REINFORCEMENTS) |
All of these show 100% ithrix attract on look. For steady farming, buy the Ithrix attracting amulet; trinkets and emergency signals are short-stack boss prizes good for a few pulls.
Room rules (any attracting item):
- Non-CPK fight room beside heal / high-regen → regular Archon Hunter.
- CPK → same tick, but a chance to roll an Archon Hunter Master.
Wear attracting gear in a non-CPK fight room beside a heal / high-regen room (spawns land in the fight room, not the safe side). In CPK, only farm if your group is ready for a category-5 master.
Trinket safety: dropping a trinket traded from the Glyph can make it vanish in a puff of smoke — store in Vandemaar's Trunk or wear it on purpose.
Repelling item (anti-rift)
| Item | Wear slot | Typical charges | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| an Ithrix warding amulet | neck | ~15 | Archon Hunter corpses; Master kill rolls |
REPELLING ithrix can block an attract spawn. Hunters no longer rift at random (help v5.0), so warding amulets are legacy loot with little day-to-day use — do not wear one while trying to attract hunts.
Double full moon
Ithrix attract amulet ticks are reduced or off on double full moons (both moons full).
Drops and tokens
Regular Archon Hunter
| Drop | Notes |
|---|---|
| Archon hunter tokens | From corpse: You take a platinum token from the corpse of …, the Archon Hunter. |
| Token types | meteorite, crystal, platinum, copper, golden, admantite, obsidian |
| Archon points (kill bounty) | 12–32 (typical per corpse) — separate from token deposit rewards |
| Body parts | Severed limbs may drop; varies by kill |
| an Ithrix warding amulet | Occasional corpse drop (REPELLING — blocks rifts, not a summon item) |
| an admantite Ithrix targe | Occasional shield drop |
Token turn-in (archon dep)
Turn extra hunter tokens with archon dep for practices, quest points, gold, and a rolled AP reward. That deposit is not the same as the small AP bounty line on each kill.
Waylander's Retreat (Sigil Underground)
| Archon Master | a kindly Archon master (porch; friendly elf on the swing) |
| Room | A Peaceful Front Porch |
| GMCP room | #33851 |
| Area | Waylander's Retreat (Sigil Underground) |
| Signpost / approach | Signpost Waylander's Retreat at [1315, 1145] (#17640649); from Sigil Underground: run Waylandersretreat, then south to the porch — mapper goto 33851 |
| Room flags | NPK |
| Command | archon dep |
Typical deposit lines:
A kindly Archon master tells you, 'Thank you for the 48 archon tokens!'
A kindly Archon master tells you, 'As a reward for thy valor, I am awarding you 2318 archon points, 66 practices, 365871 gold, and 35 questpoints!'
Towne of Decara — Lord Glomus' palace (key required)
Token turn-in is not at Lord Glomus on his throne. Kill him for Lord Glomus' key, reach the dungeon past the guards, then visit two different cells — one for archon dep (token turn-in) and one for practice (archon skill/spells).
1. Key — kill Lord Glomus
| Mob | Lord Glomus |
| Room | An Impressive Audience Room |
| GMCP room | #116288 (adjacent audience rooms #116284–#116289) |
| Area | Towne of Decara (Alyrian Underworld) |
| Sextant / mapper | [1576, 483] — mapper goto 116288 |
| Drop | Lord Glomus' key — You take Lord Glomus' key from the corpse of Lord Glomus. |
Enter via Glomus Circle → Entrance to Lord Glomus' Palace (#115845) — down the spiral stair into the palace, through Well-Lit Hallway to the audience room. Palace guards at the entrance attack trespassers.
2. Dungeon — past the guard corridor, unlock with the key
From the audience room, go west into A Dark, Winding Stairway, then down to Musty Dungeon Corridor. Walk west through the corridor (cruel dungeon guards may attack). Mid-corridor (#116311) has north and south stone doors; the corridor end (#116312) has the west door to the practice cell. All three take Lord Glomus' key — Lord Glomus' key snaps and breaks in the lock after an unlock; plan which door(s) you need per trip.
3. Token turn-in (archon dep) — side cell off the corridor
Not the west-end A Small Cell (practice). Unlock a north or south door from Musty Dungeon Corridor #116311.
| Archon Master | a wizened Archon master (token rewards) |
| Approach | #116311 → open north or open south with Lord Glomus' key |
| North (logged) | A Tiny Cell #116315 — prisoner mob in captures; dep master room unconfirmed beyond reward lines |
| South | Unconfirmed in repo logs |
| Command | archon dep |
Typical archon dep lines:
A wizened Archon master tells you, 'Thank you for the 20 archon tokens!'
A wizened Archon master tells you, 'As a reward for thy valor, I am awarding you 842 archon points, 20 practices, 0 gold, and 50 questpoints!'
A wizened Archon master pats you on the head as you deposit your tokens with her.
Waylander's Retreat (above) is the no-key alternative for archon dep only — a kindly Archon master on the porch.
4. Archon skill practice — A Small Cell (west end)
| Archon Master | a wizened Archon master — room text may show An Archon master ([Train] and/or [Practice]) |
| Room | A Small Cell |
| GMCP room | #116313 |
| Approach | #116312 → unlock west with Lord Glomus' key |
| Room flags | safe, high-regen |
| Command | practice / practice '<skill>' / practice '<skill>' professionally |
| Tag | Use |
|---|---|
[Train] |
Archon skill/spell menu — practice (no args); professional raises after 75% |
[Practice] |
Quick practice ticks — e.g. Ferdinand practices 'Warp' with a wizened Archon master's assistance. |
Gotchas: Dep (side cell) and practice (west #116313) are different rooms. Some older log lines run archon dep while standing in #116313 — treat west cell as the practice location; confirm your dep door in-game if rewards fail.
Archon Hunter Master
| Drop | Notes |
|---|---|
| a sparkling crystal egg | Level 241, archon; used to summon Masters on demand (clan/group roll on kill) |

| Ithrix summon trinkets | Kill rolls can include a trinket traded from the Glyph, an Ithrix warding amulet, an ithrix emergency signal (see Ithrix amulets and trinkets) |
| Hunter tokens | Masters are not the primary token farm — tokens come from regular hunters |

Token types (for egg summon and turn-in)
| Token material |
|---|
| obsidian |
| platinum |
| admantite |
| crystal |
| copper |
| golden |
| meteorite |
Egg summon consumes six tokens (one of each type in the set the game expects). Older reports used copper; newer sets often include meteorite instead. Wrong or missing types → dull egg glow, no summon.
