Along a small trail just northwest of Vospire, Mount Vesuvius looms. Smoke and steam billow from its crater, hinting at the intense heat that churns within. As an ever-present reminder of its power, the volcano occasionally spews molten rock and ash, wreaking destruction upon the land below. There is more to Mount Vesuvius than just its fearsome reputation though. The mountain harbors a complex system of tunnels and caverns, winding deep into the earth. One such passage deep within the volcano leads to the Mad Gnomes Cave, a hideaway for a brilliant and quirky inventor. Here, the Mad Gnome tinkers away on his creations, including the Mad Mole, a machine capable of delving even deeper into the heart of the mountain, for a price. Yet, the mountains secrets are fiercely guarded. It is said deep within the volcano is a city of centaurs known as Volcanus. It is said they are who protect the five doors that seal away the powerful demi-god Vyst. Only the most daring adventurer would consider even exploring the mysteries of the volcano, even fewer would dare make pilgrimage to those doors. Despite the dangers, many are drawn to the allure of Mount Vesuvius. Its fiery depths hold the promise of ancient artifacts and forgotten knowledge, waiting to be uncovered by those brave enough to face the mountain's wrath.
