Description
The CLASS RESPEC feature is used to change a character's race, gender, or class path. It is usable by any character at level 240 or Archon. Purchase the appropriate tokens for the change you wish to make and visit any Class Master (usually the Lord or Lady of a city, for example, Lord Vendredi of Sigil). All Class Masters will have the [CLASS] tag beside their name.
Traditional Alyrian class paths involve choosing one class from each of the class groups, respectively, Fighter, Mage, Cleric, and Thief. A player's choice of class is restricted to those classes available to their current race.

This type of class path is recommended for new players as it helps create a balanced character with a wide range of abilities.
If you wish to change your race and one or more of your current classes are not available to this race, you will need to purchase the appropriate number of class respec tokens to correct this before you can complete the race change. If you attempt a race change without the appropriate class tokens, the review prompt will inform you which classes will need to be changed and how many class respec tokens will be required to make your race change viable.
To make gender changes easier and require less tokens, the Cavalier and Valkyrie classes are no longer gender restricted. In addition, tokens are no longer required to change genders.
All tokens and changes including race and gender are made using the CLASS RESPEC command. Each time you initiate the command, the game will ask you if you want to change your race, gender, and each of your classes. When you have completed your choices, the game will provide a review of the desired changes and ask you to confirm your choices. Please check this review carefully before confirming it, as tokens stored in your containers and trunks will be consumed as well as those in your immediate inventory. Store any tokens for later use in a locker. All CLASS RESPEC changes are permanent and will not be refunded or reversed by staff under any circumstances. Should you wish to change your character back, you will need to purchase more tokens and respec your character again.
Changing a class to another class in the same class group will only require a class remort token (ie: SHAMAN to PRIEST as these are both part of the Cleric class group). Changing a class to one in a different class group will require both a greater multiclass token and a class remort token. For example: to change your first class BARBARIAN to a first class WIZARD, you would need a greater multiclass token and a class remort token to allow you to choose from another class group, in this case, the Mage class group.
The CLASS RESPEC process analyzes each class change independently and does not calculate for the most efficient token use. For example, if your character is a first class BARBARIAN and second class WIZARD and you choose to make your character a first class WIZARD and second class BARBARIAN, you will need 2 greater multiclass tokens and 2 class remort tokens because both classes are considered to be changing to a different class group. When you substitute classes, you will lose all unique spells and proficiencies for that class, but the data will be saved with your character in the event that you change classes again and receive the skill. Practices are refunded for stat point changes; half of the practices spent on trained attributes will be refunded.
The greater token of multiclassing also allow you to choose the same class more than once (for example, Barbarian / Shaman / Barbarian / Ranger) or even choose four classes from the same class group (ie: Wizard / Ranger / Psionic / Monk). Duplicate spells or skills will give a bonus of +5 skill power for each instance of the ability. Help SKILL POWER to see how points of skill power will affect each spell or proficiency. You can take these class paths at the time of leveling by having a greater token of multiclassing in your inventory when you request a CLASS NEWCLASS.
