Name
grapple — prevent an opponent from fleeing; utilize wrestling moves; or swing across gaps
Synopsis
grapple [<victim>]
Description
Rogues that have been trained in wrestling are capable of innovative feats in battle. Grappling with an opponent does not require the use of a grappling hook tool or a grapple-capable weapon, but having such options available will improve the efficacy of grappling during a fight.
To grapple, a rogue must be at close range, and already engaged in combat. It is possible to grapple while mounted, but doing so requires a grapple. Damage will be increased by the presence of a grapple, and accuracy will be increased by the unnaturally strong. A successful grapple against a mounted opponent will deal daze the opponent's mount, reducing their stamina; the presence of a grapple will increase the duration of the stun and also deal damage. Grappling an unmounted opponent will deal bash damage, and the presence of a grapple will inflict a dazed affect that reduces stamina over time.
In addition to the combat tactics imparted by grappling training, simply wielding a grappling weapon can prevent an opponent from fleeing. Some rooms are chasms that require a grappling hook tool or grappling weapon to cross.
