RESTARTING AND REMORTING CHARACTERS

Name

character remorting — recreating your character with the same name and some items

Description

If for some reason, you decide that you do not like your character and wish to restart with the same name, there are a couple of options available to you. If you are level 150 or below, you can delete your character and re-create it from scratch. This method of restarting is free but you will not be able to retain any bank accounts, lockers, gear, or gold. Characters above level 150 cannot be deleted. If you wish to change your character's gender, race, or class path, this may be done using the RESPEC command. See HELP RESPEC for more information on this class feature.

Be aware that deleting your character is permanent and CANNOT BE UNDONE. Any items that were on the character when it was deleted - including restrung or donation items - cannot be recovered or replaced.

Character remorting is what starting a character over from level one is called - you are keeping the "essence" of the character intact, but you are essentially rebirthing him and getting a second chance to take advantage of what you now know.

Remorting is allowed with any character over level 61. You are not allowed to change your character name when you remort. When you remort, the following will be transferred to the new character:

  • Your character name
  • All the items in your Rune locker
  • All your bank accounts and gold
  • All your home ownership information
  • Everything else (membership in clans, etc.) will be deleted when
  • the remort takes place. Please note that lockers will not allow you
  • to remove items from them until you have come close to the level of
  • said item, as a precaution against producing remorted character that
  • have access to high-level equipment.
  • To remort, you need to:
  • Obtain a Remort Voucher from the reward unit shop in Rune.
  • Remove all items from your current character for which you no longer
  • have a use. If you have any remaining RU in your current character's
  • account, be sure to transfer it elsewhere.
  • Put all the items (including Reward Unit items, quest items, containers,
  • etc.) you wish to keep in your Rune locker. ANY REMAINING ITEMS ON
  • THE CHARACTER THAT ARE NOT IN THAT SPECIFIC LOCKER WILL BE DELETED.
  • It is recommended that you set your Rune bank account as the default
  • account, and set your recall point to "Nearest area recall point."
  • Create a new character (name unimportant) and get him to level two.
  • Do not gain more than two levels, and do not put anything on this
  • character that you do not want deleted.
  • Inform support@materiamagica.com via email that you are ready to begin
  • your remort from character "X", using character "Y" as the base
  • character. In the email please include both characters'
  • challenge phrases, registered email addresses, and real names, for
  • security purposes. Send your voucher via I-Mail to the staff member
  • doing your remort, when they request it.
  • Do not log into either character until you have been informed that
  • the remort has taken place.
  • Remorts can take 1-3 days to occur depending on the Administrator's
  • volume of work, so please be patient.
  • Once a remort has occurred, you CANNOT UNDO THE REMORT. Please be aware
  • of this, and make sure that the character you wish to remort into is
  • the one you really and truly want, with the proper class, race, etc.
  • The Administrators will then perform the remort. Your old character
  • will have the aforementioned items transferred to the new character,
  • after which the old character will be irrevocably deleted. The new
  • character will be renamed to the old character's name, and a new
  • password will be sent to the email address registered with the new
  • character.
  • Thus the remorted character may then begin his life anew in the world of
  • Alyria, while still retaining the essence of the old.
